'Ayurveda', means 'The Knowledge of Life' is the system of traditional herbal medicine practiced in India since ages. It emerged out as a branch of "Atharvaveda" at about 5000 years ago. Ayurveda preserves good health and improves unstable health. It is eco-friendly and helps us manage our lifestyle and makes it not only livable but also lovable!
"Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and well-being. Yoga is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with ourselves, the world and Nature.

Somatheeram resort and it's employees made our holiday really relaxing. We had great massages every day and interesting ayurveda treatments which helped us completely distress and relax in this beautiful resort full of greenery. Every day we tried different local delicacies which was something totally new to us, but we got use to it and like it a lot. All the employees of the resort were friendly ,helpful and smiling. We are looking forward to come again.
Stayed November 2015
I stayed for 2 weeks to treat Aryurveda. This is the first time to visit. Most of stuff were very kindl and location was very good. I was introduced this Centre by my friend. Next time if I have a opprotunity to visit here, I want to visit again. But it was rainy season, so that weather was bud most of every day.
Room Tip: This was a traditional building in Kerala.
Somatheeram was the perfect resort for the Yoga Retreat I ran the facilities environment and staff were wonderful. I also met some delightful people from France & Germany . This is a fabulous resort for ayuvedtic treatments. This wonderful thing was it was so relaxed and guests could hang out after treatments in their green treatment robes turbans and a green face .It was even cool to go to dinner or lunch in that attire I would highly recommend the experience
My wife and I spent two weeks at Somatheeram Ayurvedic Resort. The principal purpose of our visit was to take advantage of the Ayurvedic treatment provided by the resort's therapists and doctors. Situated on top of hillock with greenery all round it (almost being like in a botanical garden) and with a view from a distance of the Arabian Sea, it is a perfect location to relax and have the daily massages and other oil treatment provided. Friendly and courteous staff of the resort as well as the Ayurvedic centre. Strongly recommend to those who want a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Hotel has a very green and beautiful territory. But beware that it's very hilly and you will have to go up and down all the time. We stayed in Special Garden Cottage category. All rooms looks like autenctic kerala houses (if you like only modern style you may not like it) but it has everything you need. Even flat tv set, air conditionar (for extra charge), all nescerry amenities in the bathroom. Shower again a bit old fashion but ok. I really liked the space near the cottage with hammock. WIFI was there but i heard it wasn't great in all rooms. In our it was ok. The beach is nice and empty. Hotel put their own free of charge sun loungers and umbrellas. There is also a guard on the bech who looks after your personal belonings. The sea was refreshing and wavy but i still like it. To get to the beach you have to go down and than up for 10 minutes on quite a hard steps. It can be a bit tiring. Ayurveda center is nice. Have no complains for doctors or therapists. They looked quite professional. But i took only couple procedures there. Since we were not on proper ayurveda treatment i liked that in the restaurant there was an al carte option with western meal and meat options (unlike pure vergetarian ayurvedic buffet). At the evening they provide some light entertaining like indian dancing or music here or in the Manaltheeram hotel. I think it's a good option for ayurveda treatment and quite relaxing beach holidays.
